Zinc gluconate supplies Zn²⁺ with a gluconate counter-ion. In leave-ons it appears in repair balms and blemish cares for soothing and antimicrobial-adjacent claims[1].

What it does

Zinc supports epidermal enzyme function and has documented roles in inflammatory skin care; gluconate is a common cosmetic salt form alongside zinc PCA and zinc oxide (mineral filter/protectant)[1].

The evidence

Stronger for zinc as a class than for gluconate specifically in topical RCTs[1].

How to use it

Typically a supporting mineral salt beside panthenol or madecassoside, not a primary acne drug.
