Propyl gallate is an alkyl gallate antioxidant used to stabilize fats and formulas. CIR’s March 2026 Tentative Amended Report concluded the four alkyl gallates are safe in present practices of use and concentration when formulated to be non-irritating and non-sensitizing; a Draft Final Amended Report was released 11 September 2026 for the October Panel[1].
