Hydrolyzed Propolis Extract is the hydrolysate of Propolis Extract, produced by acid, enzyme or another hydrolysis method [1]. It is the fourth INCI in CIR’s planned Scientific Literature Review group.

Why it is on the Index now

The September 2026 strategy memo lists it with Propolis Wax/Cera and Propolis Extract so the Panel can decide process questions that affect all four materials together [1]. There is no separate CIR verdict yet.

Safety

Emerging. Treat sensitisation risk in the same cautious way as other propolis-derived materials until the full review lands.
